Since graduating, I’ve designed and taught children’s robotics and programming courses, centering on a 3-step teaching process. Starting with daily items familiar to kids, guiding them to observe these products’ functions and operating principles, linking life experiences to basic technology and engineering knowledge to spark their curiosity about how things work.
Next, I lead hands-on block building: I tailor tasks to different age groups, with younger children focusing on foundational structures and simple mechanics, while older ones tackle more complex dynamic builds. Throughout this stage, I help kids test and adjust their creations, fostering their spatial thinking, mechanical cognition, and problem-solving skills.
In the final coding phase, I use age-appropriate visual programming tools, teaching younger children basic command logic and older ones more advanced logical instructions to translate ideas into actionable code, laying the groundwork for their STEM literacy and computational thinking. I dynamically adapt the entire process to children’s skill levels and keep them engaged with interesting projects. Beyond robotics and programming knowledge, I prioritize cultivating their “can-do” mindset, guiding them to observe, experiment, and solve problems independently to support their growth in school and future learning.
